Badabum Atelier
About us
Our mission statement
"Sound as you are."
The fundamental approach of creative, transdisciplinary music and art education is to think holistically about education, art, and culture simultaneously.
People of all generations, genders, and cultures practice self-expression within the context of community at the BADABUM Atelier association. We accompany each other through the musical journey together.
For 21 years, the BADABUM Atelier has been accompanying people on their "musical" journey, striving to enrich and promote social and cultural life in Zug through networking, guidance, support, and providing spaces.
FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR SIMON BERZ
Simon Berz founded the music school BADABUM Atelier in Zug in 2000, and he has been leading it with a lot of dedication and minimal resources ever since. With his drumming students, the "Schepperkids", he creates a stir in public spaces with percussive interventions. The "Schepperkids" include Swiss citizens, foreigners, disabled children, teenagers, and refugees. A school, a network, and the willingness of world-class artists to participate: this results in the MONSTER GROOVE every year, a "social sculpture," a concert featuring over 60 drummers, dancers, and renowned guest musicians. Through the annual organization, direction, and performance of this event at the Chollerhalle in Zug, all participants, spanning generations, cultures, and lifestyles, celebrate the unifying power of making music with children and teenagers from various backgrounds. It's an event filled with encounters, dance, and food.
